New Fall Classes this year!
Musical Theater Class
We are thrilled to welcome Mark Dampolo to our teaching family at DNE. Mark will be our Musical Theatre Instructor as well as one of our dance instructors. Mark studied dance & performed with Lynn Makiej & Brenda Fariole in previous years. We welcome you to learn more about Mark in our Staff Information on our website.
Musical Theatre incorporates a combination of acting, singing and simple dance movements. This class will provide students the opportunity to discover enjoyable and moving acting exercises, simple movements for musical theatre and an introduction to singing. Using a mixture of approaches, methods and techniques, instruction will be concentrated in acting technique, character study, scene work, improvisation, movement, monologue study and stage direction. The focus of this class is on expression and stage presence. We invite you to explore the world of Musical Theatre!
Musical Theatre for our Fall 2010/2011 Season
One Hour Class/$50. per month
Ages 7-9/Fridays 4:00-5:00pm / Ages 9-13/Fridays 5:00-6:00pm / Ages 14-18/Tuesdays 4:00-5:00pm
KinderCeltic
Offering the sweetest little Celtic class for 3 & 4 year olds. Basic Irish Step Dancing, Stretching, Circle Dance, Irish Storytelling and Leprecaun Hunting.
Fall Session / Ages 3-4 / 45 Minute Class / $45. per installment / Tuesdays @ 11:00am
Ceili Dance
Irish social dancing where the intricate patterns, enthusiastic movements, and various formations of Ireland's traditional group dancing come to life! Students can expect to learn several fun filled dances where mostly jigs and reels will be used. A great way to continue to learn more about the culture, music and life of the Celts!
Fall Session / Offered 12 & Up / Eligible Dancers Level: Junior II Intensive Celtic & Advanced / One Hour Class/$50. per installment/Tuesdays @ 5:00pm
Advanced Set Dancing
Set dancing is the traditional country dancing of Ireland. Each dance (or set) has a unique pattern of figures. These figures often incorporate many fun turning moves and generally use steps that are low to the ground and smooth. Varying the rhythm of the steps can allow for creativity and improvisation in the dancing. Students who enroll in this class can expect to learn many lively sets that are performed regularly in Irish Costumes.
Fall Session / Eligible Dancers Level: Hard Shoe IV & Advanced / One Hour Class/$50.per installment/Tuesdays @ 5:00pm
